Following a visit by the Care Quality Commission, which highlighted a number of significant concerns, the CQC has taken the decision to cancel the practice’s registration. NHS Northamptonshire CCG has therefore taken the decision to appoint a caretaker provider to minimise disruption to patient care.
Albany House Medical Centre, a GP practice rated Good by the CQC, has been appointed and have taken over the day to day running of both Earls Barton and Penvale surgeries. Both surgeries remain open and patients will continue to have access to core clinical services offered as before. We would ask that patients continue to attend pre-booked appointments and other clinics unless they are contacted directly by either surgery. Caretaking arrangements will remain in place for as long as required.
For those patients who would like to consider registering with an alternative practice in the area you are, of course, free to do that at any time. You can find information on local GP practices and the services they offer at www.nhs.uk.
