Supporting Refugees

Ensuring everyone can access health services on an equal footing is a key priority for the NHS and this applies as much to refugees and asylum seekers as UK citizens. People entering the UK as a refugee can access free health treatment, including GP advice and treatment, Accident and Emergency services as well as specialist health services once they enter the country.

It’s vital for refugees to register with the NHS so we are aware of any health conditions they may have which require on-going treatment or medication, and we can support them to get the help they need as quickly as possible. Information about how refugees can access NHS services is available in different languages including Ukrainian in the Your Health section of the website
