NHS 111 First

Health advice and support whenever and wherever you need it

Do you know that if you need urgent care you can get help and support whenever you need it – even if you’re not at home?

If you have an urgent but not-life-threatening medical need make sure you visit NHS 111 online first. NHS 111 online will help you right away and if needed, a healthcare professional will call you.

NHS 111 online can tell you where to get help for your symptoms, making it easier to get treatment in the right place.

If you need to see a health professional, NHS 111 will offer you a time slot* at the local health service which is best placed to treat you - that could be an Urgent Treatment Centre, a General Practice, pharmacy or emergency dentist, saving you time on the phone or in waiting areas, and allowing you to get back to the things you enjoy as quickly as possible. All you need to do is answer a few questions.

Easiest way to use NHS 111 is by visiting https://111.nhs.uk/ If it’s life-threatening you should always call 999.

* A time slot is an allocated time for you to arrive at a service and does not mean you will be seen at that time
