Dr Ammar Ghouri

Dr Ammar Ghouri read medicine at the University of Leicester. He completed his GP vocational training scheme in 2013, having worked in Corby, Kettering and Leicester. Following qualification, he continued to work at the practice where he completed his training. Whilst in Leicestershire, Ammar was elected to the role of Vice-Chair of the local medical committee helping to represent his GP colleagues views, holding local stakeholders to account and delivering to improve the health outcomes for patients. In 2019 he joined Lakeside surgery as a partner and has been involved in the development of the practice. 

He is keen to build positive working relationships between constituent practices and the CCG to help deliver better health outcomes for the population of Northamptonshire. He believes listening to the needs of primary care will help to coordinate our locality's development to deliver high quality patient centered care. He is committed to providing a safe and accessible service which is sustainable and well led. He is passionate about medical education, particularly undergraduate medical education and is tutor at the University of Leicester. He is a tribunal member at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service which is responsible for making decisions about whether doctors are fit to practice medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his young family. He is an avid traveller who likes to experience new cultures and enjoy culinary delights from around the world. If time permits, he enjoys playing and watching football.
